Registration Open for Befriending Mortality

“Holly’s six session Befriending Mortality course offered a safe place for me to explore various topics about death, dying, and end-of-life care. Her sessions were so informative and engaging I was inspired to organize a support group for myself and friends. Holly’s knowledge of resources is alone worth the time and cost for anyone who wants to deepen their life’s journey. My participation in Befriending Mortality added value to the life I’m living today.”

After offering my virtual six-session Befriending Mortality series five times over the past three years, I’m excited to return in March with refreshed content and a new community partner. Learn more.

Befriending mortality can be seen as a spiritual quest, a psychological assignment, a philosophical riddle, or a culture-making undertaking. In this six-part series we approach the fact of our mortality as a subject for learning. Dedicated to democratizing information and rebuilding our collective knowledge around how we care for our dying and our dead, each session engages poetry, stories, big questions, and nitty gritty details.

Presented for the first time through The Lantern, Befriending Mortality takes place over six 90-minute online sessions on alternating Mondays from March 9th to May 18th, 2026. Session recordings and extensive resource materials are included with registration.

I hope to see you there!
