Death Doula
Facing Death With Doula Support
I’ve dedicated years to learning death, through training and certification programs. But, more importantly, I have experienced death through being there – from diagnosis through the dying time, and in all the ways we care for, mourn, and remember our dead.
As a member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance, I provide death doula support within their Guiding Principles: non-medical, non-judgmental, family-centered, holistic care focused on empowerment, teamwork, and helping to fill unmet needs.
I do this primarily through advance care planning, my work as a Funeral Celebrant, and consultation with families and communities seeking non-commercial funeral alternatives. My availability to assist during the dying time is generally limited to members of my personal network and clients with whom I have an ongoing relationship.
